Guys and Gadgets at Dundrum Town Centre

If there is one fail-safe present for the guy in your life this festive season - it's some form of gadget. Guys and gadgets are a match made in heaven, great for the guy who has everything and a welcome break from socks and jumpers. There's a gadget for every guy - from the art student to the sports fanatic, and Dundrum Town Centre has them all catered for!

The Arty Guy

No self-respecting hipster is seen without a plastic film camera. These vintage-inspired Diana Lomography cameras can be found in Urban Outfitters and they're not just fashion statements, they are functioning cameras - taking beautifully soft, colourful pictures on film (also available in Urban Outfitters). Take that Instagram! You can go for the Mini Diana (from €85 with flash) or the medium format Diana (from €60) and be sure to keep an eye out for funky coloured versions. They come beautifully presented in their boxes accompanied by little books of examples of lomography; they're one of those gifts that keep on giving.

Musicman

We all know a guy who's into his music. He may be a budding DJ or a Beatles fanatic either way you're sure to find something for him in HMV. Skullcandy have a extensive range (starting from €10) of in-ear to aviator-style headphones in nearly every colour or pattern so finding one to match their personality is easier than ever. For die-hard music fans there's always Beats by Dr. Dre (starting from €100) - super sleek design and also available in a variety of colours, you'll be very popular on Christmas Day if there's a pair of these under the tree. Or, for the guy who prefers to share his music rather than keep it to himself, something like this Sony Wireless Speaker Dock (from €150) gets rid of the problem of connectors, wires and compatibility as it runs off Bluetooth - great for providing the soundtrack to after-dinner drinks or a New Years Party.

The Sports Star

Really, this is a good gadget for any guy. It may be cute, but the iPod shuffle (from €49.99) is a classic gadget. It's great for the gym, going our for a run or commuting on the train - it holds just enough songs for that perfect Get-Up-and-Go playlist and it takes up hardly any space at all. Drop in to Compu b to check out the range of colours available and you may even pick up a few accessories to go with it. Even more clever, the new iPod suffles have a Voice Over feature which tells you the title of the song you're listening to and how much battery is left!

The Big Kid

Rediscover the kid inside with these gadgets from B Cool Gadget Shop - the Arcadie for iPhone (€22.95) is just one option for the iPhone fanatic, turn your iPhone into a vintage arcade game and loose yourself in hours of Alien Invaders. Nice way to spend Christmas evening while you wait for the turkey to go down.
Personally, I don't think I know any guy who doesn't get excited at the idea of a remote control helicoptor - nothing says big kid like a guy with a new toy that flies no less. Starting from €35 for beginners to the more advanced models - be sure to enquire as to which model will suit best, and you're guaranteed to have a winner on your hands

Mr. Fix-it

The original gadget, the Leatherman is the ultimate tool for the man on the go. My Dad is never without one. From the basic model right up the sophisticated James Bond-esque versions, they're great for the outdoors-y guy or the DIY enthusiast. Marks and Spencers are carrying their own model with a light attachment (€16) or B Cool stock official Leatherman tools starting from €50 or Classic Swiss Army Knives from €14.

Well seeing as guys can be notoriously difficult to buy for, I hope that has given you a few ideas for the coming season - and this is only the tip of the iceberg, there are literally hundreds of gadgets to be found in Dundrum Town Centre for every guy and every budget.

Until next time!
